The City Hall
Developer Investment
Fund (CHDIF)

The City Hall Developer Investment Fund (CHDIF) is a £324 million investment fund established by the Mayor of London, with government support, to help unlock and accelerate housing delivery across London. The fund is designed to make stalled or unviable housing developments deliverable, with a strong emphasis on increasing the supply of social and affordable homes and supporting projects that can be built quickly.

CHDIF is open to a wide range of organisations, including London boroughs, other public bodies, registered providers of social housing, and UK‑registered private sector developers. Funding aims to support developments that contribute to the delivery of at least 5,000 new homes by March 2029, with plans to grow the fund further through additional government investment over time.
