Brunel Street Works occupies a formerly disused site owned by the Greater London Authority. Delivered through a joint venture between Vistry and Metropolitan Thames Valley Housing, the site has been transformed into a mixed-use urban quarter, designed to support and enhance the vibrancy of the local area.
In addition to 977 mixed-tenure homes, the scheme provides 8,000 sqm of commercial and community space which includes a Sainsbury’s Local and a 150-bed Premier Inn hotel. GLA Land and Property acquired ground floor commercial units across four blocks to promote low-cost workspace provision.
These units are managed by the Brunel Street Project. New public spaces, connected by an improved public realm along Silvertown Way, create a more inviting and pedestrian-friendly environment, supporting the wider regeneration of Canning Town.
